The Sri Lanka Buddhist Pilgrims’ Rest in New Delhi provides transit accommodation for pilgrims from Sri Lanka as well as from other countries visiting India to pay homage to the sacred Buddhist sites in the country.
The Sri Lanka Buddhist Pilgrims’ Rest (SLBPR), managed by the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi, is located at No. 07, Chelmsford Road, opposite the New Delhi Railway Reservation Centre. It primarily serves as a transit hub for pilgrims from Sri Lanka and other nations who come to India to visit the sacred Buddhist places of worship. Situated very close to New Delhi Railway Station and just 22 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Pilgrims’ Rest functions under the patronage of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in India and is dedicated to ensuring a comfortable and serene stay for pilgrims as they undertake their spiritual journey.

Located steps away from New Delhi Railway Station, the Pilgrims’ Rest offers convenient access for those travelling by train to major pilgrimage centres such as Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, Kushinagar, Rajgir, and Nalanda.
