Traditional dance presentations, live musical performances, handicrafts and the flavours of Old Delhi provided a rich cultural backdrop to the evening. Among the highlights were a sitar recital by an Israeli diplomat, illustrating the power of music to transcend national boundaries and connect people through a shared appreciation of art and culture, and an exhibition of paintings by an Iranian artist and her students, adding a further international dimension to the occasion.

Diwali carries a message that resonates well beyond geographical and cultural boundaries: the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and goodness over adversity. These universal values provided a fitting backdrop for an evening that brought together people from different nations, backgrounds and traditions.
