At the invitation of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), High Commissioner Mahishini Colonne participated as Special Guest at a book discussion on 'Shakti - Tales of Power and Promise' by Ms. Ritu Sharma, held under IGNCA's Nari Samvad Prakalp on 18 September 2026 in New Delhi.
The Chief Guest at the occasion was Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh, with the author Ritu Sharma and Prof. Sudhir Lall, Dean, IGNCA, also participating.
In her remarks, the High Commissioner reflected on the tradition of the Shakti Peeths and how it extends beyond India's borders, with Trincomalee itself long associated with one such tradition - a reminder that the sacred geography and civilisational memory shared by India and Sri Lanka run deeper than the boundaries drawn by the modern maps.
