Investment Incentives
The government has launched diverse pro-business policies and incentive schemes under the Board of Investment (BOI). The board grants a number of incentives to new companies such as preferential tax rates, constitutional guarantees on investment, exemptions from exchange control and 100% repatriation of profits and capital. Tax holidays, concessionary rates and duty exemptions are also available in certain circumstances for export-oriented enterprises.

Investment Protection and Avoidance of Double Taxation
The Constitution of Sri Lanka guarantees the protection and security of foreign investments. Both India and Sri Lanka have signed the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) that prevents dual taxation and fiscal evasion on income.
